Brand strategy

The full Espanda thesis — what we're building, who it's for, why now, what makes it non-obvious. If you only read one page in this design system, read this one.

Positioning

Espanda is the AI-native operating system for digital agencies that have outgrown spreadsheets and refuse to run on a stack of 30 tools.

Mission

Run the operations of growing digital agencies end-to-end, so founders stop being the human API between their tools.

Vision

Every digital agency under 200 people in India and emerging markets running on a single AI-native operating system instead of a 30-tool stack.

What we believe

Five convictions that justify the company existing. If everyone in our category agreed with these, they wouldn't be sharp enough.

01

AI should do the work, not just answer questions about it.

02

AI belongs inside the workflow, not next to it as a chat sidebar.

03

The 300-app SaaS stack is a failure of the pre-AI era.

04

SaaS won't disappear — it will be absorbed into intelligent workflows.

05

The next great operations platform won't come from Silicon Valley enterprise.

Why now

The technological and economic shift that makes this company finally possible.

LLMs got good enough to do real domain work. Agents that take actions across systems became production-reliable. The cost of building software collapsed by ~10×. Pre-2024 this required 200 engineers and $50M; today a small team can ship it. The window is open now — and closes the moment one of the incumbents catches up.

The problem

The specific pain we solve. Concrete, named, with a cost.

Agency owners run their business across eight disconnected tools — Notion, Slack, Canva, QuickBooks, Gmail, spreadsheets, a CRM, a scheduler. None talk to each other. Three hours a day go to coordinating the work, not doing it. Every PM tool they've tried — Asana, Monday, ClickUp — needed two months of setup and was abandoned within three.

Why existing solutions fail

Generalists (Notion, Monday, ClickUp) give you a blank canvas; most teams never finish setting them up. Specialists (HubSpot, Asana, Salesforce) cost $300/seat and integrate poorly. Both bolt AI on as a chat sidebar — none rebuild the architecture around it.

Our solution

One workspace, six modules, six named AI agents that do the work — drafting, prioritising, following up, reconciling. A single shared context layer means agents know what each other know. No integrations to set up. No data to copy.

What makes it non-obvious

Three insights competitors haven't seen, or have seen but can't act on.

01

Vertical depth inside horizontal scope. Notion went wide and shallow; HubSpot deep and narrow. AI agents make 'deep + wide' finally tractable.

02

Templates as the wedge, not a side feature. Day one looks like day 365 of a working agency.

03

Built outside the US-enterprise lens. Designed for emerging-market price elasticity and workflows, not retrofitted from $50K-ACV software.

Customer portrait — Priya, Bangalore

One real-feeling person who summarises the ICP. Use this as the protagonist when writing copy or making product decisions.

Runs a 12-person agency. It's 11pm and she has six tabs open across Notion, Slack, Canva, QuickBooks, Gmail, and a homemade spreadsheet — none of them talking to each other. She's the bottleneck and she knows it. She's tried every PM tool; none stuck. She doesn't want another tool. She wants a system that already knows how an agency runs.

Jobs to be done

Five recurring moments when an agency owner 'hires' Espanda.

Client review

Walk a client through the content plan with proof and approval, in one view.

Monday morning

See real project status — what's blocked, who's waiting, what the team is doing — without DM'ing five people.

Cash flow

Send an invoice in one click. See all unpaid invoices in one screen.

New-hire onboarding

A new PM sees what good looks like without a week of training.

Pitch with context

Every detail of a prospect's history at hand during a sales call.

Six modules, six named agents

The product. Each module is run by a named AI agent that takes actions, not just generates text.

What we deliberately don't build

Restraint is positioning. These are conscious nos.

  • ×No blank-canvas builder — we ship templates.
  • ×No public API in v1.
  • ×Mobile is a companion, not the primary surface.
  • ×No on-prem / self-hosted. Cloud-native, SOC2-track.
  • ×No regulated verticals (healthcare, legal, financial services) until v3.
  • ×No marketplace, no plugins, no extensions.

Key differentiators

  1. 01

One context layer across modules. No integrations needed.

  2. 02

Templates as starting points, not blank slates.

  3. 03

Named AI agents that take actions, not just generate text.

  4. 04

Built for emerging-market agencies, not retrofitted from US enterprise.

  5. 05

    Indian-rooted, globally polished.

Brand archetype

Magician with a Caregiver undertone.

Magicians transform reality. Espanda makes work feel effortless and makes the agency owner look brilliant. The Caregiver undertone is quiet — we handle the boring ops so you focus on the work that matters. We're not your assistant. We're not your friend. We're the system that runs the boring parts of your business.

Pricing model

Tier names come from the lexicon — every customer-facing surface speaks the same language.

PulseTeam · 5+ seats$9 / user / month, billed annually
WaveFounding offer$399 lifetime · first 100 only · 10-user cap

Success criteria

How we know if the brand is working.

In 6 months, the brand is working if…

Customers describe Espanda in our language ('runs my agency', 'AI does the work'), not the category's. Word-of-mouth in WhatsApp founder groups. Agent names (Beat, Spark, Wave) appear in customer posts unprompted.

In 12 months, we want to be recognized for…

The first AI-native operating system for agencies, built out of India without apology. The default choice for a 25-year-old agency founder in Mumbai or São Paulo or Lagos.

A failure case — we've lost the brand if…

Filed as 'another ERP with AI bolted on'. Or as 'Indian SaaS' with the implied second-tier discount. Or as 'Notion but with AI'.
